President Donald Trump has become the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl by showing up at a sporting event in New Orleans with his children.

AceShowbiz - President Donald Trump created history by attending Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana. It made him the first sitting president to attend the national championship game.

Trump was joined by his children Ivanka Trump and Eric along with daughter-in-law Lara Trump as he watched the Kansas City Chiefs battle against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome.

The commander-in-chief suited up for the occasion, showing no sign of the team he's supporting, but sources claimed the President was rooting for Kansas City Chiefs. Last year, he gushed over Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany, for being his staunch supporter during his Presidential campaign.

The Chiefs aimed to make football history by becoming the first team to win the championship for three consecutive years.

During a pre-game interview, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said it was and honor to have Trump in attendance despite open girlfriend Taylor Swift' open criticism of the President.

"It's a great honor, no matter who the president is," Kelce told reporters, according to Reuters. "I'm excited because it's the biggest game of my life... and having the president there... it's the best country in the world so it'd be pretty cool."

Prior to the game, Trump met with families of victims from the January 1 attack on Bourbon Street. He also greeted fans on the field and shook hands with Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones.

Federal law enforcement sources confirmed Trump's plans to attend the Super Bowl, heightening security measures at the stadium. His presence added intrigue, given Swift's vocal opposition to Trump. However, Brittany Mahomes, a close friend of Swift, has expressed support for the former president.

Trump's message for the Super Bowl, released by the White House, emphasized the unifying power of football in American society. He acknowledged the victims and their families affected by the tragic New Year's Day attack in New Orleans.

With snipers on rooftops, military vehicles on the streets, and a comprehensive security presence, Trump's visit to the Superdome created a distinct atmosphere. Former First Lady Jill Biden and celebrities like Timothee Chalamet, Kevin Costner, Miles Teller, Pete Davidson, Paul McCartney, Bradley Cooper, Jay-Z, and Jason Sudeikis were also in attendance.

Before kickoff, renowned artists Jon Batiste, Ledisi, Trombone Shorty, and Lauren Daigle performed for the crowd, delivering "National Anthem", "Lift Every Voice and Sing", and "America the Beautiful", respectively.

Kevin Burkhardt and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady led Fox's coverage, supported by reporters Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi while Mike Pereira was the analysis.

Kendrick Lamar ignited the halftime with his electrifying performance, alongside SZA.
