Trace defended himself for posting his letter to public, "Dad my message was beyond loving." He added, "I could have been extremely honest about a lot more but I don’t want to put your business out there like that. But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace."
In an emotional Instagram follow-up, Trace expressed his love and disappointment towards his father, writing, "You should be ashamed of yourself. I will always love you but I no longer respect you as a man."
He also stated that his siblings, including Miley Cyrus, share his worries about Billy Ray's well-being. He even claimed the entire family, except for Braison Cyrus, "signed off" on his letter.
His younger brother Braison has clashed with Trace, claiming their father is "happy" and "healthy."
Billy Ray Cyrus has not publicly commented on Trace's accusations or the concerns raised about his performance. However, he has previously addressed his health issues, stating that he has been dealing with vocal problems and insecurities.
