AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez has called off several high-profile TV appearances promoting her upcoming drama "Unstoppable" to focus on supporting the Los Angeles wildfires.
Lopez was scheduled to appear on "The View", "Live With Kelly and Mark", "Today", and "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". She scrapped them all to focus on assisting the Los Angeles community during this difficult time.
"The View" confirmed Lopez's cancellation, replacing her with actress Susie Essman.
Just a few days ago when the LA fires first broke out in Pacific Palisades, a premiere event of her movie was also called off due to safety concerns.
Lopez joins a growing list of celebrities providing relief efforts, including Sharon Stone who organized a clothing drive, Jamie Lee Curtis who pledged $1 million, Jennifer Garner and Meghan Markle who helped to feed first responders, Paris Hilton who launched a fundraiser, and Kim Kardashian and Halle Berry who donated clothes.
The Los Angeles wildfires have forced over 153,000 residents to evacuate and caused severe damage, with estimated costs reaching over $150 billion. Celebrities like Milo Ventimiglia, Paris Hilton, and Spencer Pratt, and Mel Gibson have lost their homes in the blazes.
The cancellation of J.Lo's TV appearances reflects Hollywood's response to the wildfire emergency. The Critics Choice Awards have been delayed, and the Academy Awards nominations announcement has been pushed back. The SAG Awards also canceled their live nominations announcement.
As the wildfires continue to rage, Jennifer Lopez and other celebrities are using their platforms to raise awareness and provide assistance.
