Wendy Williams has set the record straight on her struggles with substance abuse amid her ongoing fight to terminate a court-ordered conservatorship in a revealing interview on 'The View.'

AceShowbiz - Wendy Williams continues to be a focal point of public attention as she navigates her battle to end a strict conservatorship that controls her finances and personal decisions. In a recent pre-taped phone interview with the co-hosts of ABC's "The View", Williams laid bare her experiences with alcohol and drug abuse, a recent relapse, and her frustrations with the legal guardianship that governs her life.

The former talk show host, who has faced years of substance abuse issues, candidly revealed, "The relationship is fine and it's wonderful because I've had my devices, and I have to tell you something, I am easily going on with my life alcohol-free for the rest of my life."

However, she admitted to celebrating her birthday with alcohol last summer, but firmly assured viewers, "But no more, no more alcohol, thank you."

Williams' appearance on the show came days after she reportedly aced a psychological evaluation.

Her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has maintained that Williams, diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, is "cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated." Despite these claims, Williams vehemently argued, "How dare they say I have incapacitation. I do not!"

Ginalisa Monterroso, founder of Connect Care Advisory Group, also participated in the interview, echoing the sentiment that Williams should be released from the conservatorship. Monterroso highlighted that Williams showed no signs of incapacitation and supported Williams' stance, adding weight to the host's plea for autonomy.

Reflecting on her guardianship, Williams mentioned, "I didn't mind it at that time at all because it's about my money and keeping my money safe, but at this point in my life, I want to terminate [it]."

She expressed feeling misled and stressed that she no longer sees the need for such stringent legal restrictions.

Recounting a recent incident, Williams shared how she was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation after a distressing public plea for help. Despite the turmoil, Williams ended the interview on a positive note, promising to visit "The View" in person soon, signaling her unwavering determination to regain control over her life.
