AceShowbiz - Justin Bieber may have long moved on from his past relationship with Selena Gomez, but her recent engagement still affects him. Rumor has it the Canadian pop star was left "stung" after learning of the actress/singer's betrothal to Benny Blanco.
Sources tell Daily Mail that even though the "Baby" hitmaker is happily focused on his life with wife Hailey Bieber (Hailey Baldwin) and their baby son Jack, the singer realized that Selena's engagement officially marked the "end of an era."
"Justin is married and has a kid, we all know that but when he heard that Selena was engaged, he'll even admit, it stung for a brief second," one of the so-called insiders claims. "Because even though they will never be friends or date again or anything like that, it is officially the end of an era."
"His past is so connected with Selena, and now that she is engaged, he is married and a father, it's a bit of a shock to the system that everyone is getting older," the source explains. "Justin is only 30, but he has lived a life, and an important part of his past is now officially moved on just as much as he has moved on."
Noting that Justin "won't be stressing much about it and hopes that she is well and happy at the end of the day," the source says, "He hopes this will finally get fans to stop stanning for that relationship, it's been over and now this should put the nail in the coffin."
Justin and Selena were dating on-and-off from 2010 to 2018. After Selena announced her engagement to Benny, whom she has dated for over a year now, Justin is believed to have shared a hidden message to his ex-girlfriend in his recent Instagram post.
The 30-year-old posted photos of himself and his wife Hailey during their getaway in Costa Rica. However, his song choice in the post, "All My Ghosts" by Lizzy McAlpine, got his fans buzzing on the Internet.
Some of the song's lyrics read, "I can see it now/ The wedding of the year, I can see it now/ He stands up there and wipes his tears," which fans interpreted as his response to Selena's engagement to Benny.
