Country singer Sundance Head makes use of his social media accounts to release his first statement since returning home from the hospital, where he was treated for an accidental shooting.

AceShowbiz - Country singer Sundance Head has released his first statement since returning home from the hospital after accidentally shooting himself at his Texas ranch on November 15, 2023.
On Sunday, November 17, Head posted a self-taped video on his social media accounts to personally update fans on his condition. He thanked God and the healthcare workers at UT Tyler Hospital for saving his life.
"I was sure that I was gonna die," he said. "It was one of the craziest things that's ever happened to me... But I really wanted to come on here and tell you guys that I am alive. I'm in a lot of pain. I was shot accidentally in the stomach. I was alone."
Head expressed gratitude for the stranger who stopped to help him while he was bleeding out on the side of the road. He said without his help, he did not think he would have survived. He also thanked the first responders for their assistance.
Prior to this, Head's agent, Trey Newman, confirmed to PEOPLE that the "Darlin' Don't Go" singer, 46, was hunting in the woods alone when he accidentally shot himself in the stomach at approximately 4:30 P.M. local time.
Head's wife, Misty, shared updates via his Facebook account, revealing that he was home from the hospital and in stable condition as of November 16. However, she noted that he was bleeding heavily through his bandages during the difficult three-hour car ride home.
Head previously competed in the 2007 season of "American Idol", where he reached the semi-finals. In 2016, he became a fan favorite on Blake Shelton's team during season 11 of "The Voice", where he was crowned the winner.
