A representative for the country-soul singer confirms that he is in 'stable' condition after being airlifted from his rural Texas ranch to a hospital as his wife asks for prayers.

AceShowbiz - Singer/songwriter Sundance Head is hospitalized after he was shot in the stomach. The country-soul artist, who won season 11 of "The Voice" under Blake Shelton's mentorship, was struck with a bullet on his Texas ranch on Friday, November 15.

His agent Trey Newman told The Post "he's stable," adding that the gunshot wound was "to his naval area" but "it missed all vital organs." The rep also said that "it was not self-inflicted."

"We don't know if it was an accident with his gun or if it was another hunter nearby," Newman said. "The bullet is lodged in some fatty tissue, and the only way it could have have happened is if it travelled through something else," the rep explained.

According to the rep, Head was the one to call 911 and he was "life-flighted" off of his ranch to a hospital. "We thought he was going to go in for immediate surgery," Newman went on, but added that at this time surgery does not seem necessary. "It sounds like they're gonna leave it in there," he said.

"His wife is on the way to the hospital now to get a little more information from the doctors. We're not sure if he is awake," Newman further explained.

It's unclear how Head got shot, but he went hunting on his ranch at the time of the incident. On Friday morning, the singer posted on social media a photo taken from inside a big ten with a cot. "Woke up this morning to the sound of silence," he captioned the picture.

Moments later, his wife broke the news of his condition. "Prayer Warriors we need y'all. This is Misty - I don't have a lot of information but please keep Sundance in your prayers. Sundance has been life flighted with a gun shot wound to his stomach per the paramedics who called me," she wrote both on her and Head's Facebook accounts. "They told me once they land he's going in for immediate surgery. They did get him stable for the flight (per the paramedic) We are on our way to Tyler now. Again this is the only information I have at the time. Please just keep him in your prayers."

She later gave an update on her husband's condition. "Doctor just called me bullet went in above his navel and lodged into his abdominal wall missing all vital organs. He will not require surgery as they are not removing the bullet," she relayed the news. "I'm sure she said why but my head is in a fog right now," she continued. "Him being on the bigger side was a good thing. Bullet is in his fatty tissue. Thanks for all the prayers."

"Praise Jesus! Bullet missed all vital organs," she added on Friday evening as she was driving to the hospital, but said that she was still an hour away.
