AceShowbiz - Liam Payne's alleged fateful moment was caught on camera prior to his devastating passing. The English singer is seen in newly-unearthed footage interacting with a hotel staffer, who has been charged in connection with his death.
On Thursday, November 14, TMZ published the never-before-seen video that sees the former One Direction member briefly stepping out of an elevator in the basement of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, chatting with one of the three people charged in connection with his death.
While the employee's face is censored in the video, sources tell the site that the man, who shook hands and chatted with Liam is Ezequiel David Pereyra, a bellboy at the hotel whom police accuse of delivering drugs to Liam in a soap box.
Ezequiel was stacking chairs in the basement with other hotel staffers when the elevator door opened and Liam popped out. The two men shared some words and slapped hands, before the employee heading out through a doorway.
The video was recorded around 2:04 P.M., about 3 hours before Liam fell to his death from the balcony of his third-floor hotel suite. It is believed that police have got their hands on the same footage.
Besides Ezequiel, two other people, a friend who allegedly abandoned Liam and an alleged drug dealer, have been charged in connection with the singer's death. Investigators believe that the "Strip That Down" hitmaker's tragic fall was preceded by erratic behavior and drug ingestion.
A toxicology report revealed that the 31-year-old had multiple drugs in his system at the time of his death, including cocaine, ketamine and a prescription antidepressant. Prosecutors have ruled out suicide, stating that Liam's state of consciousness and lack of defensive reflexes indicate that he was not fully aware of his actions.
Liam's body has been repatriated to the U.K. for burial, with his funeral currently being planned by his family.
