AceShowbiz - Sophie Turner, the 28-year-old "Game of Thrones" star, has been vocal about her struggles and triumphs following her recent divorce from singer Joe Jonas, 35. The couple, who married in 2019, share two young daughters: Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2. The separation, finalized in September, incited widespread mum-shaming after reports suggested Sophie had been partying while Joe took care of their children.
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Sophie opened up about the challenges she has faced. "I want them to see me having a social life and enjoying work and thriving in my career and relationships," she said, emphasizing the importance of balancing her professional and personal life.
The actress has been filming several projects, including her latest hit "Joan", which keeps her traveling frequently.
Sophie expressed hope that her daughters would understand her dedication. "I'll come back and say, 'This is why Mummy was away - it's because she's doing this for you, so Father Christmas can come with a big bundle of presents,' " she shared.
The divorce has not been without its complications. Legal proceedings and custody battles have taken a toll on both sides. "I'm going through a legal process right now where I can't really say much, but it was incredibly sad. We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard," Sophie admitted.
Beyond the emotional strain, geographical changes have also played a part in Sophie's journey. Originally from Northampton, she found herself yearning for the UK amidst the chaos of American life. "The gun violence, Roe v Wade being overturned... Everything just kind of piled on," she revealed, citing these issues as motivators for her return home.
Since moving back to the UK, Sophie has not only rekindled her career but also found love again with aristocrat Peregrine Pearson. The pair recently went Instagram official, much to the delight of fans. Reflecting on her return, she said, "I'm so happy to be back. It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England."
Despite the separation, Sophie Turner maintains a reflective and positive outlook on her past relationship with Joe Jonas. "Before I had kids, I was very depressed and anxious... Now, I think I live my life for them," she concluded, showing her resilience and dedication to her daughters and her own growth.
