"I was so happy, but at the same time, it was the first time that I have not been able to be in person for something that I, you know, wanted to be at," Michelle explained in the October 29 episode of "Sherri". "And that is a sacrifice we make [with] Broadway. I couldn't be there, but they represented and held me down in their own way." Despite missing the event, Williams watched from afar and expressed her pride and support for her fellow Destiny's Child members.

Another layer to the story emerged from reports that illness affected her Broadway castmate Megan Hilty, preventing both from being absent at the same time. Williams has been in previews for "Death Becomes Her", which is set to officially open on November 21.
