AceShowbiz - Following a derogatory comment about Puerto Rico made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at a Donald Trump rally in New York, several notable figures in the entertainment industry have rallied behind Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican superstar with over 45 million Instagram followers, shared a video of Harris criticizing Trump's handling of Hurricanes Irma and Maria that devastated Puerto Rico in 2017. Jennifer Lopez, who is also Puerto Rican, posted the same video along with a screenshot of Harris' plan for the island. Ricky Martin, another Puerto Rican singer-actor, added a clip of Hinchcliffe's offensive remark.
In addition, Hinchcliffe made disparaging comments about Latinos, Jews and Black people during his set. Bad Bunny's post included a portion of Harris' speech highlighting Trump's lack of aid and empathy during the hurricanes. The move was met with praise from X co-host Ana Navarro, who thanked Bad Bunny for defending his island and its people.
Martin also expressed concern that his X posts were being suppressed by the platform, which is now owned by Trump supporter Elon Musk. Trump's rally drew significant media attention, with Melania Trump making an appearance before her husband took the stage. It culminated in a performance of "New York, New York" by a crooner.
