AceShowbiz - On Thursday, October 17, Louis Tomlinson was photographed in Malibu, California, a day after the tragic news of Liam Payne's death at the age of 31. Tomlinson appeared somber while conversing with his pregnant sister and her partner.
Louis also took to Instagram, sharing a screenshot of his playlist featuring Payne's final release, "Teardrops". Payne released the track in March, co-written with JC Chasez and Jamie Scott, to mark a new chapter in his solo career. Tomlinson's post accompanied a touching tribute where he reminisced about their bond, their band journey, and the profound impact Payne had on his life.
In a joint statement on social media, the remaining One Direction members - Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Niall Horan - expressed their profound grief. "We are utterly devastated by the news of Liam's passing," the statement read. "The memories we shared with him will be cherished forever."
Tomlinson shared a personal tribute on Instagram, describing Payne as "a positive, funny, and kind soul." He credited Payne for "shaping" One Direction and being the brother he had always wished for.
Payne rose to fame alongside One Direction on "X Factor" in 2010. Despite their initial conflicts, they released four successful albums and toured extensively. After Malik's departure and the band's subsequent hiatus, Payne pursued a solo career.
However, Payne struggled with the pressures of his former lifestyle. In a 2019 podcast interview, he admitted to losing control of his life and developing unhealthy habits.
Payne's life tragically ended when he fell from the third floor of his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Witnesses reported erratic behavior prior to the fatal accident.
