AceShowbiz - Being a celebrity kid has its perks and challenges, something North West, the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, knows all too well. In a candid conversation with her mom for Interview Magazine, North, 11, shared insights into her life and how she copes with the constant public attention.
North disclosed that she uses a fake name when she's out with friends to avoid being recognized. "I have one," she told Kim. "But I'm going to change because nobody believes me. It's Katie Johnson."
She explained, "When I'm out at Sky Zone with my friends, they call me Katie, but when I look in the mirror for a long time, I'm like, 'I do not look like a Katie.' And then I was like, 'Okay, I got to change my name.' So I'm telling y'all now."
Despite the playful name changes, North acknowledged that being famous means losing some control over their lives. She enjoys being in front of the camera, but only when it's on her terms.
"I like taking pictures of myself," North said, "but I don't like when paparazzi do." Her mood often determines how she reacts to being photographed. "If I'm ready, if I'm not tired, if my outfit's good, I'm like, 'Okay, I could take a picture.' "
Family is a crucial part of North's life. The SKIMS founder recently shared back-to-school photos on Instagram, showing her four children, North, Saint (8), Chicago (6), and Psalm (5), smiling and ready for a new academic year. North also reminisced about a special trip to Italy with her dad, Kanye. "It was just us and my siblings, and that's when I really brought them close to God," she said, recalling how she taught her younger siblings to pray when they encountered devil statues in their house.
Like any sibling group, they have their moments of friction. North quipped about her siblings' annoying habits, saying, "When they're annoying me, I'll just be like, 'Yo, get out my room. I'm not feeling this, for real.' " Despite the occasional annoyance, their bond remains strong.
North's father, Kanye, is also known for using various monikers such as Yeezy and Ye, which might explain her comfort with pseudonyms. Earlier this year, North collaborated with Kanye on his and Ty Dolla $ign's album, "Vultures 1", making her chart debut with the song "Talking/Once Again." Her musical persona, Miss Westie, has already captured the public's imagination.
As North continues to grow in the spotlight, she adapts in unique and playful ways, negotiating her identity while staying close to her family and faith.
