AceShowbiz - Garth Brooks is facing a legal problem. After being accused of sexual assault by his and wife Trisha Yearwood's former makeup artist/hairstylist, the "That's What Cowboys Do" singer responded to the allegation with a lawsuit.
Recently, the 62-year-old country music star submitted legal documents under the name "John Doe" in an attempt to block the former makeup artist's impending suit. In the court papers, he shut down the accusations made by the former employee, who goes by the name Jane Roe in her lawsuit.
On Thursday, October 3, Fox News Digital obtained Garth's response to Jane's lawsuit. He stated, "For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face."
"Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money," he continued. "In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of-ugly acts no human should ever do to another. We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides."
Garth went on to write, "I want to play music tonight. I want to continue our good deeds going forward. It breaks my heart these wonderful things are in question now. I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be."
Previously, Jane filed a lawsuit in which she accused Garth of raping her in a hotel room during their 2019 trip to Los Angeles. She alleged that there were only her and Garth on his private jet before they arrived at a hotel, where he booked only one room with one bed for both of them.
In the docs, Jane also accused Garth of "openly talking about sex in front of her," including "his repeated remarks about having a threesome with his wife." She further claimed that he exposed his genitals, shared sexual fantasies with her, texted her explicit messages and physically groped her breasts.
