AceShowbiz - Garth Brooks will not be performing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" anytime soon. The "That's What Cowboys Do" singer's gig on the TV program hosted by Jimmy Kimmel has been canceled at the last minute.
On Tuesday, November 19, it was reported that the 62-year-old country music star's performance on the talk show had been scrapped a few days before he was set to perform. Ticket holders recently received an announcement about the cancellation from 1iota, a live audience company.
The message read, "Unfortunately, the Garth Brooks Outdoor Mini-Concert at Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, 11/25 has been canceled and will no longer proceed as scheduled. Television production decisions can fluctuate due to a variety of reasons."
"We hate delivering disappointing news, and we hope you will join us in the future for another exciting fan experience," it continued. "Unfortunately, in the world of television, these things sometimes happen. This event will not be rescheduled."
The disappointing news came after 1iota advertised Garth's performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that was originally scheduled for Monday, November 25. Two days before the mini concert was canceled, a message on 1iota's social media page read, "Garth Brooks is bringing his magic to Jimmy Kimmel Live with an exclusive outdoor mini-concert! Be there as country music's legend lights up the stage."
The performance may have been scrapped due to Garth's ongoing legal problem. In early October, Garth and wife Trisha Yearwood's former makeup artist/hair stylist filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of sexual assault. According to the ex-employee, who was identified as Jane Roe, he sexually assaulted her in a hotel room during their 2019 trip to Los Angeles.
In response, Garth submitted legal documents under the name "John Doe" in an attempt to block the former makeup artist's impending suit. He denied the accusations, writing, "For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face."
