AceShowbiz - Boosie Badazz has never shied away from expressing his controversial views, especially concerning the LGBTQIA2+ community. During an interview with Yung Miami on the "Caresha Please" podcast at the REVOLT World 2024, Boosie discussed why he doesn't allow his daughter Iviona, known as Poison Ivi, to bring her partner into his home.
His remarks, which emphasized his desire to prevent his other children from being "contaminated" by her sexuality, have once again ignited a firestorm of criticism.
"It was nothing," Boosie stated in the interview. "I mean, she still can't bring her situation to our house, my daughter's grown. Because I don't want it to contaminate her other... It's a generation we raising. I don't want her to contaminate her other six, seven sisters who look up to her. I want them to bring me grandchildren the right way."
Boosie's reasoning is deeply rooted in his traditional Southern Baptist beliefs and family upbringing. "My grandfather didn't let it, my daddy didn't let it and I didn't let it," he added, reinforcing his family's stance against queer identities.
Clearly upset by her father's comments, Ivi took to Instagram Live to respond. "Emotionally, mentally, you suck," she declared. "And I know you suck with that because you'd rather go to the Internet and have a conversation with the Internet about your kids before you come to us and have that conversation."
Her frustration was palpable as she recounted past instances where Boosie's comments hurt her. "The first-ever interview you did, you said, you found out I was gay, that I like girls and I had a girlfriend, from a picture that went viral, that was a lie, I let that slide, I never addressed it," she recalled.
Iviona's emotional retort underlined the strain in their relationship. She pointed out the double standards in her father's behavior, highlighting his performance of a song about two women kissing. "If that ain't contaminating, then what is?" she questioned.
Despite the public criticism and personal pain, Poison Ivi expressed her enduring love for her father and a desire for a more respectful relationship. She pleaded, "If you just say, just one time, just say, 'My daughter know how I feel about that, can we move on to the next question?' "
The emotional video has gone viral, with many fans supporting Iviona while advocating for a peaceful resolution between her and Boosie. It's clear she remains hopeful that one day, their private matters can be addressed privately.
