AceShowbiz - A night meant for entertainment turned chaotic at the Field House Lounge in Akron, Ohio, when shots rang out during a Boosie Badazz concert early Monday morning, March 10. Around 2 A.M., an altercation erupted inside the venue, leading to a gunman opening fire. The violent outburst resulted in three men sustaining gunshot wounds, with two in critical condition.
The victims, identified as an 18-year-old and a 36-year-old man, were swiftly transported to a local hospital. A 25-year-old male also suffered a minor graze wound.
As video footage from the scene reveals, panic ensued as Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Ivy Hatch Jr., quickly dropped to the ground mid-performance and backed away amid the chaos when the gunshot was heard.
According to Cleveland 19 News, off-duty officers who were acting as security at the event immediately called for backup. The gunman, believed to have entered via a blind spot or second door, fled the scene on foot, and his identity remains unknown. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau.
This disturbing incident comes just seven months after another tragic shooting at another Boosie concert in Pacific Junction, Iowa, left two men dead. That shooting, which occurred in the venue's parking lot, raised alarm about the recurring violence at Boosie's performances. In 2017, a similar episode saw two fans injured during a show in Gardena, California.
In a statement released via Instagram, the Field House Lounge expressed deep sorrow, saying, "We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that took place at our establishment last night. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and everyone affected by this event."
The venue emphasized their commitment to guest safety and cooperation with the city of Akron to prevent such incidents in the future.
While no arrests have been made in connection with the latest shooting, the investigation remains ongoing. The events have sparked new concerns and discussions about enhancing security measures at concerts to ensure the safety of attendees.
As Boosie moves forward, both fans and authorities are looking for answers to prevent further violence at his shows.
