After the season 6 reunion of Love Island USA, contestant Daia McGhee took to social media, calling out Ariana Madix's hosting and stirring up significant debate among fans.

The reality TV star did not hold back in a fan-captured TikTok live video, where she recounted her issues with how Madix handled a pivotal moment during the reunion.
Daia McGhee recalled the segment where the cast discussed the controversial fire pit scene, particularly the debate over whether Leah Kateb or Liv Walker played a more significant role in eliminating Andrea Carmona.
McGhee claimed Madix asked the Islanders, to raise their hands to indicate their opinion on the matter. Despite repeated prompts, no one responded, leading Madix to comment, "I've been on a reality show and I got treated way worse than you guys and you guys need to pretty much get over it."
McGhee criticized Madix's approach, stating, "Respectfully, as a host you don't say your experience was way worse than what we are going through, because at the end of the day Love Island's numbers did way bigger." She further elaborated that a host's job is to "not pick favorites" and "just be the mediator in the situation."
The grievances did not end there, as McGhee also referenced the negative "mean girl energy" she felt from Madix. She shared that Madix's focus seemed to shift away from significant moments on Love Island and instead, spotlighted her experiences on Bravo's "Vanderpump Rules".
"As a host, you don't say your experience was way worse than what we're going through because, at the end of the day, Love Island's numbers did way bigger than that, or whatever show she was on," McGhee remarked.
This is not an isolated incident of hosting controversies on "Love Island USA". Previously, Sarah Hyland faced backlash during her tenure as host. She was labeled "mad disrespectful" following a tense moment with Keenan Anunay and Vickala "Kay Kay" Gray.
Despite the drama, some cast members remained supportive of Madix, even attending her Broadway performance in "Chicago" after the reunion. However, McGhee was notably absent from this outing.
