AceShowbiz - Jared Padalecki, known for his roles on "Walker" and "Supernatural", has landed a guest-starring role on CBS's hit drama series "Fire Country". He will play a three-episode arc as Camden, a charismatic and skilled SoCal firefighter who recognizes the raw talent of Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot).
While his role is currently limited to a guest appearance, sources suggest that the possibility of a spin-off headlined by Padalecki is in the works. This spin-off would join the upcoming "Sheriff Country", starring Morena Baccarin.
CBS is eager to expand the "Fire Country" franchise and has identified Padalecki as a valuable asset. After the cancellation of "Walker", CBS Studios sought to keep Padalecki within its ranks, creating the opportunity for his role on "Fire Country".
"Fire Country", which follows Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking redemption through a prison firefighting program, has proven to be a successful venture for CBS. The show premiered as the most-watched new broadcast series and continues to attract a wide audience.
Padalecki's casting aligns with CBS' focus on developing mass-appeal franchises that can generate multiple spinoffs. "Fire Country" has been identified as a show that lends itself to a "whole new universe."
In addition to his role in "Fire Country", Padalecki has also expressed interest in a role in the upcoming fifth and final season of Prime Video's "The Boys", created by Eric Kripke, the co-creator of "Supernatural" which Padalecki starred on.
