AceShowbiz - Halle Berry and her ex-husband Olivier Martinez are reportedly struggling to co-parent their 10-year-old son Maceo-Robert. Sources claim that the former couple has different parenting styles, making it difficult to raise their child together.
According to insiders, Berry values privacy for her son, while Martinez has a different approach. "They have very different parenting styles," a source told PEOPLE. "Co-parenting hasn't been easy. Still, they both love Maceo and he's amazing... [he's a] very focused student. Halle very much tries to keep his life private."
The sources also noted that Berry has been linked to musician Van Hunt and is happy in the relationship. Hunt is said to be very supportive of Berry.
In recent months, Berry filed a court request to intervene in her and Martinez's co-parenting agreement. She alleged that Martinez had not been attending co-parenting therapy sessions as previously agreed upon. Berry claimed that Martinez "unilaterally terminated" coaching sessions without informing her or the coach, harming their son's well-being.
Martinez's lawyer denied the allegations, stating that Martinez plans to address them in court. Judge Shelley Kaufman denied Berry's request due to "lack of exigent circumstances," meaning it was not deemed an urgent emergency matter.
Under the current divorce agreement, Berry and Martinez share joint legal custody of Maceo-Robert. Berry pays Martinez $8,000 a month in child support plus an additional 4.3% of any income she earns above $2 million annually.
