AceShowbiz - Shannon Sharpe has issued a formal apology to Megan Thee Stallion following his inappropriate remark. Months after making a controversial statement about Megan, the former Denver Broncos tight end publicly apologized to the "Girls in the Hood" raptress.
The 56-year-old podcast host took his time to say sorry to Megan during a recent interview. In the Monday, July 1 episode of his "Club Shay Shay" podcast, he stated, "Before going any further, I want to apologize to you personally."
Shannon went on to say, "I always wanted to sit down and have a conversation with you. I didn't know that was gonna be possible. But I was always hoping that I got an opportunity to bump into you because I made a comment, I think it was like September or October, and I told a joke."
"But I believe the joke would be just as funny had I left you out of it," he continued. "So for any unwanted attention, harm, shame, embarrassment that I caused you or your family, I wanna say, as a man who sits here before you, that I apologize," he added while placing one of his hands on his heart.
In response, Megan, who looked stunning in a black black outfit during the sit-down, showed a similar gesture with both of her hands and flashed her radiant big smile. Accepting the apology, she replied, "I appreciate that. Thank you."
Later on, Shannon was praised by many social media users for publicly apologizing to Megan. One in particular gushed, "I like his accountability." Another chimed in, "I love how the apology is as loud as the disrespect was publicly." A third penned, "Thank you for validating her & making it right."
The sincere apology came less than one year after Shannon made sexual comments about Megan. In November 2023, a short clip from his interview with Chad Ochocinco on the "Nightcap" show went viral. In the footage, the two were talking about Megan after Chad mentioned her "Stallion" moniker.
At one point, Shannon said, "I'd have her stretched out like quarter to three." Not stopping there, he also said, "I do it three ways, Ocho: deep, hard and continuously. I'd have her opening up like saloon doors." It did not take long for him to be met with criticisms from many social media users who came to Megan's defense.
