The 'My Bloody Valentine' hitmaker has shared a bloody behind the scenes footage of his huge blackout tattoo, showing the painful process and the aftermath.

AceShowbiz - In a candid Instagram video, Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) shared the behind-the-scenes process of his extensive blackout tattoo on his upper body.

The video documents multiple weeks of grueling sessions with tattoo artist Roxx, beginning with 44 needles and no anesthesia. Kelly expressed the intense pain he endured, calling it "the most painful s**t I've ever experienced in my life."

Despite the excruciating process, Kelly revealed that he underwent the tattoo for "spiritual purposes only." The all-black ink spans his upper torso and arms, covering most of his previous tattoos. A cross symbol outlines his chest and torso.

According to tattoo artist ROXX, MGK is an exceptionally tough client, undergoing six-hour sessions at her LA studio since December. After 13 sessions, the project remains unfinished.

MGK debuted the tattoo on Instagram in February, eliciting mixed reactions. Some praised the "elegant" design, while others criticized the excessive coverage.

The tattoo's intentionality is further explained by Kelly in the song "Don't Let Me Go," where he reveals a breakdown and the motivation behind the blackout tattoo. A source had also suggested that MGK got the tattoo to demonstrate his willingness to change for his relationship with Megan Fox.

Despite their recent separation, Fox has expressed her support for Kelly's transformation, describing the tattoo as "very elegant" and "ahead of its time." She noted that Kelly holds a special story behind the design, which he chooses to keep private.

However, medical professionals have raised concerns about the potential negative side effects of such a large blackout tattoo, including skin irritation and even cancerous growths.
