AceShowbiz - Lauren Jauregui doesn't hold back. The Fifth Harmony singer was caught laughing at Selena Gomez's reply to a fan who was calling her out over her different take on social media usage when it comes to her romance and her stance on the Hamas-Israel conflict.
It started after an X user shared a screenshot of Selena's response to a fan on Instagram. The fan wrote, "She out here doing the absolute most under this post over some f**ka** relationship but when asked to stand with the people of [Palestine] all of a sudden she had to take a social media bre- call drops." Catching wind of the shade, the "Wolves" singer replied, "you're right."
The X user was baffled by the sarcasting response. "I'm sorry what??? Is she okay???" she said in the caption. It didn't take long before Lauren came across the tweet as she replied, "Lmfaooooo."
Internet users, meanwhile, had mixed responses to the whole thing. Agreeing with Lauren, one said, "If I'm completely honesty I agree with Lauren on this one. It seems like Selena is on social media when it is convenient to her and the story line she wants to push." Another applauded Lauren for having "balls for calling out Selena."
Some others encouraged people to boycott the "Only Murders in the Building" star and her beauty brand Rare Beauty. "We are right for cancelling her and her brand," one said, while another simply putting a "#boycott_rarebeauty" hashtag.
"Lmfaoo I love how Selena is in her idgaf era iconic," a user noted. On the other hand, a Selenator demanded, "Let Selena be !!! Y'all hartases her for everything, she is allow to date be happy and defend whatever she wants !! She does a lot for ppl and we don't know about ! We are strangers to her so why everyone feels so entitled of her life !!! She doesn't need to take sides on anything she is human and she is allow to live life !!"
Selena, who recently confirmed her romance with Benny Blanco, previously landed in hot water for her neutral stance on the Palestine-Israel war. The "Lose You to Love Me" hitmaker issued a statement in response to the backlash, only to get more hate comments for allegedly making the conflict about herself.
"I'm taking a break and deleting my Instagram. I'm done," the 31-year-old former Disney darling wrote on her Story on November 2. Doubling down on her neutral stance amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, she stated, "I do not support any of what's going on." She, however, later deleted the message.
