AceShowbiz - Liam Payne might have called it quits with Kate Cassidy. More than five months after making their red carpet debut as a couple at the British Fashion Awards, the "Strip That Down" hitmaker was reported to have mutually decided with his model girlfriend that their romantic relationship did not work out.
On what actually happened, a source spilled to The Sun, "Liam and Kate sat down after he returned from LA and decided it wasn't working out." The source added, "There was no big row or anything, it just ran its course and they both mutually decided to go their separate ways."
The source went on to share that Kate, who had been living in Liam's south of England home, moved out and "flew back to the U.S. earlier this week." As for Liam, the source stated that the 29-year-old singer "knows it's the right decision."
On how Liam was coping with the breakup, the source spilled, "He's been throwing himself into his music and the rest of the year he is jam packed with work." The source continued, "The next few weeks alone will see him fly to back to the States and to Europe to wrap up his new album."
"In truth trying to juggle his career and keep his relationship alive throughout the summer and into autumn was always going to be tricky, they both realized that," the source further added.
The split report came up nearly five months after Liam defended Kate over gold-digger accusations. Back in December 2022, the former One Direction member reacted to a DM warning him that the model was just after his fortune. "Gotta say you could tell me anything and I couldn't be turned, I've never felt a love like I do for Katelyn," he hit back at the time.
"We make each other better people. If it was just for the money I'd give her all of it. It's not though (please remember I'm hella sexy) and I know I'm fun and a loveable person. And I don't give a f**k to say that for the first time in my life I'm happy to be me and that's priceless," he continued.
