The exes' performance for 'My 2000s Playlist' concert at Oakland Arena has an interesting timing as it takes place a few days after Gotti got candid about his heartbreak involving the two musicians.

AceShowbiz - Ashanti and Nelly joined forces for a performance of their collaboration "Body on Me" at a show in Oakland over the weekend. While it was unclear if the Friday, August 5 gig was pre-planned, the performance had an interesting timing as it took place a few days after Irv Gotti got candid about his heartbreak involving the exes.
In the Friday show, Nelly and Ashanti joined the likes of Ja Rule, Ma$e and Lil Jon on the bill for the "My 2000s Playlist" concert at Oakland Arena. The "Foolish" hitmaker came onstage during the "St. Louie" hitmaker's set to perform their 2008 hit.
Prior to this, Gotti revealed during his appearance on "Drink Champs" that he learned about Ashanti and Nelly's relationship from watching a basketball game on TV. At the time, he admitted that he was "in love" with the singer.
While reflecting on his alleged fling with his former signee, the Murder Inc. founder said, "I can get past you wanting to be with Nelly." He added, "Listen, at the time, when it happens, any man, it hurts [when] the chick you f**king are in love with is with this n***a."
He went on to share, "You wanna hear how I found out? This was God wanting me to find out. I was at home. NBA package, I like watching sports. 'Oh my God, what's this commotion going on in the stadium?' 'We just found out what the commotion is: Nelly has walked in with Ashanti.' "
Also in the interview, Gotti claimed that the idea for Ashanti's 2002 hit "Happy" was conceived right after the pair finished having sex. When asked if his alleged brief romantic relationship with Ashanti ever affected business, he revealed, "It helped her. We just finished sleeping together, or whatever, I'm taking a shower. I'm in the shower, you know, a n***a be creative after [sex] … I think of the whole track in the shower."
He went on to claim that he immediately got out the shower and made a phone call to Chink Santana. He then headed over to the studio to begin work on the track with producer Chink. "Okay, now it's time for you to write. Yo, I want the s**t to be a feel-good joint, like summertime," he concluded.
