The 'Bad Boy for Life' rapper points out that 'love is about forgiveness,' noting that it's 'important' for him to have the 'Astroworld' rapper perform at the BBMAs.

AceShowbiz - Sean "P. Diddy" Combs is throwing his full support behind Travis Scott (II) amid ongoing legal proceedings over the latter's deadly Astroworld Festival. The "Bad Boy for Life" rapper is "uncanceling the canceled" by adding the "Goosebumps" spitter to Billboard Music Awards lineup.

During an interview with "Revolt Black News" published on Tuesday, May 10, the 52-year-old hip-hop artist said, "There will be no canceling on my watch." He further stressed, "Love is about forgiveness… so that was why it was important for me to have Travis Scott perform. It's going to be a great night."

One day earlier, Diddy posted an Instagram video, in which he excitedly announced that Travis will perform at the 2022 BBMAs. "This just in," he said in the clip. "For the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday I made a request, I made a demand."

"I said 'My brother Travis Scott has to perform. I'm executive producing, he has to perform,' and NBC said, 'Yes,' " Diddy went on telling his fans, "It's going down Sunday, Travis Scott will be performing… now that's love." In the note accompanying the video, he wrote, "BREAKING NEWS!!! BREAKING NEWS!!! @TravisScott will be performing at the @BBMAs live this Sunday! #BBMAS."

In a separate post, Diddy exclaimed, "I'm returning... That means I'm the host with the most, I'm the executive producer that calls all the shots, that means I'm the ringmaster, P.T. Barnum style." He added, "Ain't no party like a Diddy party."

"We're gonna come through with one of the most disruptive lineups in music history with one of the most controversial hosts in musical history - Me!" the music mogul went on stressing. "So everybody get ready to meet me at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards!"

In the caption of his post, Diddy penned, "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!! I am Executive Producing and Hosting the 2022 Billboard Music Awards!" He continued, "Everybody get ready to meet me in Vegas Sun. May 15th!! Ain't no party like a Diddy party!! Let's get ready to #ACTBAD!!! @nbc @bbmas #bbmas. LOVE."

That same day, Billboard unleashed the list of performers for this year's ceremony. Aside from Travis, stars who will perform at the event are Ed Sheeran, Becky G, Elle King, Miranda Lambert, Silk Sonic, Burna Boy, Latto (Mulatto), Maxwell as well as Megan Thee Stallion. Mary J. Blige, who is also scheduled to take the stage, will receive the Billboard Icon Award.

This year's nomination list is dominated by The Weeknd, who scored a total of 17 nods, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist. Doja Cat, in the meantime, leads the female artists with 14 nominations. Trailing behind are Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Olivia Rodrigo, who earn 13 nominations each. Drake, on the other hand, is a finalist in 11 categories, followed by Dua Lipa and Ed, who both nab nine nods.

The Billboard Music Awards will air live from Las Vegas on Sunday, May 15, at 8 P.M. ET.
