AceShowbiz - Actress Megan Fox credits her kids with saving her life. The "Transformers" beauty shares sons Noah, eight, Bodhi, seven, and Journey, four, with her estranged husband Brian Austin Green, and she reveals becoming a mother at the age of 26 gave her a new sense of "purpose".
She explained to The Washington Post, "That kind of saved me honestly. I needed an escape."
"[I was] so lost and trying to understand how am I supposed to feel value or find purpose in this horrendous, patriarchal, misogynistic hell that was Hollywood at the time? [People had a] pervasive perception of me as a shallow succubus... for at least the first decade of my career."
The actress playing April O'Neil in 2014's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" continued, "[Having kids has] given me the ground that I needed to grow into something quite special."
Although Megan's marriage with the father of her kids didn't work out, she has since found love with rapper/actor Machine Gun Kelly, who she began dating last year (2020).
Just days earlier, Megan talked about her boys growing up so fast. In an interview on the "Today" show, the 35-year-old admitted to hosts Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager, "I wish there was like a way... where you could, just every once in a while, for a day, put them all back to that like two or three-year-old period."
"Because it's really hard to watch them grown up. I struggle with that a lot. I cry about it all the time because they grow up so fast," she went on saying. "I also feel like no matter how engaged you are, or no matter how hard you were trying at the time, you always look back and you're like, 'I could have been more present' or, 'I hope I was grateful for this while I was in that moment.' "
