The 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' actor wishes 'it was only me who tested positive,' but his wife and their two young daughters also contracted the disease.

AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has become the latest celebrity who has fallen victim to coronavirus. On Wednesday, September 2, the wrestler-turned-actor revealed that he and his entire nuclear family, including his wife Lauren and their two daughters Jasmine, 4, and Tiana, 2, tested positive for COVID-19.

The "Rampage" star disclosed his family's positive diagnosis in an 11-minute video posted on his Instagram page. "I wanted to give you guys a little helpful update on things that have been going on on my end for the past two-and-a-half to three weeks now. So the update is this: my wife Lauren as well as my two baby girls and myself, we have all tested positive for COVID-19," he began his message addressed to his fans.

Noting that "testing positive for COVID-19 is much different than overcoming nasty injuries, or being evicted, or even being broke," he admitted, "I could tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family, and for me, too, personally as well."

Johnson believed he and his family contracted the novel virus from close family friends, who are "devastated" that they unwittingly spread the virus. He added, "I wish it was only me who tested positive, but it wasn't, it was my entire family, so this one was a real kick in the gut."

Talking about their symptoms, the 48-year-old hunk said that while his daughters only had sore throats in the early days and "bounced back" from the virus pretty quickly, he and his wife "had a rough go at it." Thankfully, he and his family "are good" now. He assured, "We're on the other end of it, we're on the other side. We're no longer contagious, and we are - thank God - we are healthy. ... We've gotten through COVID-19 stronger and healthier."

Sharing his takeaways from his bout with the virus, Johnson recommended that people start implementing more aggressive measures when having family and friends come over to their houses. He also reminded everyone to keep wearing masks and boost their immune system.

Summarizing his message, he added in the caption, "My message to all of you around the [world]. Stay disciplined. Boost your immune system. Commit to wellness. Wear your mask. Protect your family. Be strict about having people over your house or gatherings. Stay positive. And care for your fellow human beings."
