According to his wife Amanda Kloots, the 'Bullets Over Broadway' actor needs a surgery to fix a blood flow issue in his leg and it might affect his future ability to walk.

AceShowbiz - Broadway star Nick Cordero may never walk again after spending weeks fighting for his life in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center amid a battle with COVID-19.

The Canadian actor, who starred in "Bullets Over Broadway" in 2014 and last year's hit musical "Waitress", was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after contracting what was initially believed to be pneumonia earlier this year 2020.

He later tested positive for the coronavirus, and his condition continued to worsen, leading doctors to have to resuscitate him and place the star on an ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) machine to help support his lungs and heart, dialysis to help with his kidneys, and a ventilator.

And taking to Instagram on Thursday, April 16, 2020, his wife Amanda Kloots said that her husband needs surgery on a blood flow issue in his right leg, which may affect his future ability to walk.

"The surgery went well. The doctor said for Nick's heart and lungs right now, they're in the best condition that they could be," Kloots said in her post. "His right leg is still an issue. There has been some blood flow issues coming down to his foot."

Kloots added that she wasn't sure if he would be able to walk again and that there will probably be a lot of rehab in Nick's future. However, blood was returning to his toes, she said.

Her post came after she had shared a hopeful message on the site on Wednesday, noting "it's all about small wins in the ICU."

"Nick is getting stronger and the AMAZING doctors and nurses think they can take him off ECMO soon!" she added. "This would mean his heart and lungs would be functioning on their own. Anything can change in an instant, but we are staying positive! HE IS HEARING US GUYS!"
