Confirming the casting news, showrunner Chic Eglee gushes that the 'Rock Is Dead' singer's performance as a Viking death metal rocker will 'be disturbing, original, and uniquely entertaining.'

AceShowbiz - Shock rocker Marilyn Manson is padding his acting resume after landing a role in cult cable drama "American Gods".

The "Rock Is Dead" singer, who previously appeared on biker series "Sons of Anarchy", will play the frontman of a Viking death metal band, called Blood Death, on the show.

"As a long-time admirer of his estimable talent as an author, artist, musician, and actor, it is dope indeed to be working with Mr. Manson in season three of American Gods," showrunner Chic Eglee tells Deadline, while confirming the casting news. "Bringing his specific energy, wit, and boundless enthusiasm... to the role of Johan, a Norse berserker in service to Odin, his performance promises to be disturbing, original, and uniquely entertaining."

The third season of the show will premiere in America next year, and Manson, real name Brian Warner, will reportedly appear in four episodes.
