Breaking the big news on breakfast show 'Today', the 'Every Breath You Take' hitmaker will be filling the space Celine Dion left empty with performances from May to September.

AceShowbiz - British rocker Sting is jetting off to Las Vegas next year (2020) after landing his own concert residency.

The "Every Breath You Take" hitmaker will take over The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for his "My Songs" show.

"I've played Las Vegas many, many times over the years, but I've never had my own room," he tells U.S. breakfast show "Today", "so I'm so excited about the potential for having your own room for the amazing Vegas show.

"The potential is incredible with state of the art projects and dancing... It's gonna be a real Vegas show (sic)."

The 67-year-old adds, "It's based on 40 years of songwriting, maybe 50, and telling the story of my life through songs."

Sting will stage the first 16 performances from May to September, 2020, filling the space Celine Dion has called home for the past 16 years.

She will wrap up her longstanding show this June, before venue officials embark on a series of renovations.

"Don't Stop Believin'" stars Journey were recently announced as one of the first acts to play the revamped The Colosseum in October, while Caesars Palace bosses are reportedly also in talks with Katy Perry and the reunited Spice Girls - minus Victoria Adams - for residencies there in the near future.

If they sign on, they will join pop peers Lady GaGa, Gwen Stefani, and Christina Aguilera among the many artists who currently have residency deals in Sin City, as well as veteran rockers Aerosmith and Def Leppard.
