The 45th U.S. President is up against the likes of Johnny Depp and Will Ferrell among others for the Worst Actor category, while the First Lady faces Kellyanne Conway for Worst Supporting Actress.

AceShowbiz - U.S. President Donald Trump has been named as a contender in the Worst Actor category at the upcoming Golden Raspberry Awards.

Nominations for the spoof film prizes, also known as the Razzies and Razzie Awards, were announced in a YouTube video by organisers on Sunday night (January 20), with Trump receiving nominations over archival footage of himself in political documentaries "Death of a Nation" and "Fahrenheit 11/9".

In addition, Trump and his "self-perpetuating pettiness" were nominated in the Worst Screen Combo category, while the President's wife, First Lady Melania Trump, and his advisor Kellyanne Conway, received nods due to archival footage of them in filmmaker Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 11/9", which was released in September (2018).

Trump, 72, previously won the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actor for 1990's "Ghosts Can't Do It", in which he appeared as himself.

Neither the President nor White House representatives have commented on the Razzie nominations as yet.

Dinesh D'Souza's "Death of a Nation", John Travolta's crime drama "Gotti", Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's buddy comedy "Holmes & Watson", and Melissa McCarthy's black comedy "The Happytime Murders", all received six Razzie nominations.

The winners of the 39th edition of the Razzie Awards will be announced on February 23 - the night before the 91st annual Academy Awards.
