More than eight years after ditching his flowing locks for 'From Paris with Love', the 'Pulp Fiction' star once again shows off a bald look as he wishes his followers a great New Year.

AceShowbiz - John Travolta had ditched his flowing locks in favour of a completely shaved head.

The 64-year-old actor debuted his surprise new look in a post on Instagram this week, beg January 07, which showed him posing alongside daughter Ella Bleu.

In the snap, John showed off his salt and pepper moustache and beard, as well as his entirely bald head, as he looked sultrily into the camera while holding a martini glass.

The "Pulp Fiction" star didn't mention the makeover in his caption, instead simply writing: "I hope everyone had a great New Year!"

The new look got the seal of approval from the screen star's fans, one of whom commented: "John! You are looking great with that bold look!" Another added: "John, you look absolutely amazing with your head shaved and I hope you stick with it. Not all men do, but this look is absolutely great on you!"

It's unclear exactly when John decided to ditch the hair. He had shared a video alongside Ella, wife Kelly Preston and their son Ben over the festive period, but in the clip he was wearing a hat.

The last time he was seen with hair was at Pitbull's hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on 14 December. John struck up a close friendship with the rapper after working with him on the movie "Gotti", and many fans have speculated his new look may have been inspired by the "Timber" star's smooth head.

The only time John has experimented with a bald look in the past was for 2010 movie "From Paris with Love". Other than that, it has been widely rumoured that the "Grease" star has relied on wigs, hairpieces and even undergone hair transplants in a bid to keep a full mane.
