The late DJ's family thanks fans for their outpouring support and for their appreciation of his music.

AceShowbiz - Tragic DJ Avicii's family has released a statement thanking fans for their messages of support. The electronic dance music superstar, real name Tim Bergling, died in Oman last week, April 20, and as his nearest and dearest mourn his passing, they are thankful for the outpouring of care and concern from his devotees.
"We would like to thank you for the support and the loving words about our son and brother," the new statement reads. "We are so grateful for everyone who loved Tim's music and have precious memories of his songs."
The statement continues, "Thank you for all the initiatives taken to honor Tim, with public gatherings, church bells ringing out his music, tributes at Coachella and moments of silence around the world. We are grateful for the privacy during this difficult time. Our wish is that it continues that way."
His cause of death has still not been released.
Meanwhile, among the tributes for Avicii is one from CHIC's star Nile Rodgers, who had called the DJ his "little brother." Rodgers says he last performed with the "Wake Me Up" star three years ago and was upset because his pal, who suffered acute pancreatitis in part due to excessive drinking, was drunk.
