Just a week shy from the release of "Black Panther", a new report has emerged suggesting that the Marvel movie has sparked an off-screen romance. According to the report published by MediaTakeOut, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o, who play Erik Killmonger and Nakia in the superhero flick, are currently dating.
Michael and Lupita have been seeing each other romantically, claimed the site, noting that it's "not a rumor - it's 100|percent| FACTS." Citing "one of our friends on the cast," the gossip site said that "Michael always had a crush on Lupita and right around the time that we wrapped - he SHOT HIS SHOT."
"It worked because they're dating now," the so-called insider continued, adding that the alleged new lovebirds "seem really into each other."
Before being reported to be in a relationship with Lupita, Michael sparked hook-up rumor with a Latina woman named Ashlyn Castro after the two were caught in a video partying together. The rumor sent the internet into a frenzy, with some calling for black women to boycott the Marvel movie due to the actor "dating outside of his race."
Just a week ago, Michael said that he's "technically single." Addressing his relationship status, the 30-year-old movie star explained to Entertainment Tonight when attending the Los Angeles premiere of "Black Panther" Monday night, January 29, "Technically I'm single. Dating but, you know, technically single."
Michael brought along his mother, father, sister and a few of his friends to the screening. "We were drawing straws," he said of choosing his guests for the event. "It was tough at the house."
"Black Panther" is coming in U.S. theaters next week, on February 16. Directed by Ryan Coogler, who is Michael's frequent collaborator, and co-written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole, the superhero flick stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa a.k.a. the titular character. The cast also includes Angela Bassett, Andy Serkis, Martin Freeman, Winston Duke, Forest Whitaker, Danai Gurira, Sterling K. Brown, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright and Florence Kasumba.
