The 'Tell Me You Love Me' hitmaker, who reveals she 'has given up dieting,' says that she's 'feeling gross today at a photo shoot but I'm choosing to accept what I see because I love myself.'

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato won't be "food shaming" herself anymore, she has declared. The 25-year-old songstress took to her Twitter account on Friday, January 19 to reveal that she "has given up dieting" and tell her fans how it's improving her self-confidence in the hopes it would inspire them.

"Feeling gross today at a photo shoot but I'm choosing to accept what I see because I love myself for who I am and your love and support gets me through moments like this," so Demi tweeted. She went on telling her online followers, "if you're struggling as well, don't forget.. if I can do it, you can too!"

The "Skyscraper" hitmaker wrote in a follow-up tweet, "No longer depriving myself of treats (in moderation) and I'm not gonna lie, I put on a couple lbs since I've given up dieting BUT I've given up the chronic stress of what I eat because I don't want to set that example for my fans." She continued, "No more food shaming myself!!"

Demi has been open with her fans about her past eating disorder and body image struggles. During her recent appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", the former Disney star told host Ellen DeGeneres that she's trying to help others on their journey to self-love.

"I've been working on myself for the past year, more so than I've ever worked on myself," she said. "I've really surrendered to the process of just learning to love yourself, and I feel like it shows through my pictures." She went on explaining that she's been posting "more bathing suit pictures online" as she "[wants] to show my fans that it's possible to get to that self-love, too."

Meanwhile, Demi will kick off the North American leg of her "Tell Me You Love Me Tour" in support of her new album on February 26 in San Diego. It wraps in Tampa, Florida, on March 31 after 20 dates. DJ Khaled is Demi's special guest, with R'n'B singer Kehlani joining them as the opening act.
