Big Bang's T.O.P will finally resume his military service soon following his marijuana case. An insider from the Military Manpower Administration reports that the oldest member of the group has been re-assigned to a new post as a public service for the remainder of his mandatory military service duties.

T.O.P will be stationed at the government district office in Yongsan in mid-January. When asked about the reports, a source from the government office answers, "We've received information about the matter, but we haven't received an official document yet."

The singer/actor was previously assigned as a conscripted policeman for the Gangnam police station. However, after being charged and found guilty of smoking marijuana, he was dismissed from duty and had to finish the remainder of his duties as a public service worker. Furthermore, T.O.P was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay a $10 fine.

"I am highly sorry over my actions," he apologized after his hearing ended. "I am deeply reflecting over and over again. The only thing I can say to everyone is that I am very sorry. Other than that, I have nothing to say." When asked if he planned to file an appeal against his sentence, he said, "I currently have no plans to fight the sentencing with an appeal. I will face the charges given to me by the court."

T.O.P has 520 days remaining in his mandatory service requirement. He is expected to be discharged in June 2019.

Meanwhile, two other members of the group, G-Dragon and Taeyang, are set to enlist in mandatory military service this year. It has been reported that the two are planning to enlist by next spring. Seungri and Daesung actually planned to enlist too, but they changed the plans as Seungri couldn't enlist due to the long waiting list.
