Six primary actors of the long-running comedy reportedly get their paycheck raised to nearly $500,000 per episode for the next two seasons, from around $350,000 in the previous contracts.

AceShowbiz - "Modern Family" has scored a two-season pickup on ABC. The five-time Emmy-winning family series is renewed for season 9 and season 10 with new 22 episodes for each season. The network has also negotiated new contracts after adult cast members boycotted a table read and filed a lawsuit against 20th Century FOX Television, which produces the series, to void their contracts.

"We are beyond thrilled that we get to spend more time with these characters, these amazing actors, our ridiculously talented writers and our incredible crew-all of whom are like family to us. And the good kind of family, not the kind that argues with you all the time," co-creator/co-showrunner Steve Levitan said Wednesday, May 10 in a statement.

" 'Modern Family' has been the centerpiece of our comedy brand for eight seasons and we are thrilled to have it on our schedule for two more years," ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey added. "Steve and Chris have created such endearing characters, and the cast is second-to-none."

Co-creator Christopher Lloyd said, "We have been blessed since day one on 'Modern Family', and having the opportunity to spend two more years with these characters-and the brilliant actors behind them-is is the latest, and best, in a series of gaudy gifts."

He continued, "There is so much more to explore in the lives of this family, and so many pressing needs in the lives of our own actual families to go on ignoring, that this timing could not have worked out any better. Truly, it's a humbling experience. Ty Burrell has already pointed out that Alexander the Great's entire reign only lasted 8 1/2 years (326 -317 BC) so yes, everyone is deeply humbled by this."

Six main actors of the long-running series reportedly have inked new two-year deals which see significant salary increments. Ed O'Neill, Julie Bowen, Ty, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara reportedly got their paycheck increased to nearly $500,000 per episode for the next two seasons, from approximately $350,000 per episode in the previous contracts. ABC reportedly will also negotiate new contracts with younger cast members, including Rico Rodriguez (Manny), Nolan Gould (Luke), Sarah Hyland (Haley) and Ariel Winter (Alex).

In season 8, "Modern Family" remains to be ABC's highest-rated comedy and has averaged a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demo and 7 million total viewers, according to Nielsen live-plus-same day numbers. Ty, Eric and Julie won each two supporting actor Emmys for their performances on the huge critical darling series.

"Modern Family" season 7 finale airs on Wednesday, May 17 at 9 P.M. on ABC.
