Movie

The 'Girl on the Train' actress posted a Catwoman picture on her Instagram account, and fans began speculating whether she would play the DC character in the 'Suicide Squad' spin-off.

AceShowbiz - Haley Bennett might suggest that she would appear as Catwoman a.k.a. Selina Kyle in "Gotham City Sirens". On Thursday, February 2, Bennett posted a picture of Catwoman without any caption, raising speculation that she would play the DC character.

She also uploaded a photo of herself with short hair, which resembled Selina Kyle's traditional short cut. Bennett wrote in the caption, "This is me now @garrennewyork."

Bennett is known for her roles as Emma Cullen and Megan in "The Magnificent Seven" and "The Girl on the Train" respectively. She got a lot of buzzes for her performance in "The Girl on the Train". People even called her the next Jennifer Lawrence. Her upcoming movie is "Song to Song", in which she will star opposite Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender.

There hasn't been any official announcement that Bennett will play Catwoman. So far, Margot Robbie is the only cast member confirmed to appear in "Sirens". Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn in the movie centering on the pig-tailed anti-heroine. Director David Ayer has hinted that Poison Ivy will also appear in the movie, and Megan Fox was rumored to play the character. However, neither Warner Bros. nor Ayer confirmed it.

"Gotham City Sirens" is currently in early stage of development and will reportedly start its production in summer. The movie will be directed by Ayer and executive produced by Robbie, with Geneva Dworet-Robertson penning the screenplay. Plot details and release date haven't been announced yet, but the movie is expected to hit U.S. theaters sometime in 2018.
