The 'Make Me...' hitmaker is asking her fans for their prayers after her 8-year-old niece was involved in an ATV accident on Sunday, February 5.

Britney Spears has broken her silence on Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie's ATV accident. The "Slumber Party" songstress took to Instagram and Twitter to ask fans for their prayers was seriously injured in the accident on Sunday, February 5.
"Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece," Britney wrote alongside a picture of Maddie posing with her dog at home. The little girl wore a denim dress, brown boots and bow hair tie.
A source tells PEOPLE that Britney, who was in Las Vegas when the accident occurred, has flown to Louisiana to be with her family. Maddie is currently in "critical but stable" condition at a New Orleans hospital.
According to a report released by The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department, the crash did not take place during a hunting trip but on a family property. Contrary to earlier reports, Jamie and her husband Jamie Watson were there.
Maddie was allegedly attempting to avoid driving over a drainage ditch when the vehicle overcorrected. The report says, "The ATV and child were instantly submerged in the water right before their eyes. Within seconds the child's mother, stepfather and other family members reached the pond, dove in and attempted to rescue the child to no avail. The child was trapped and secured by the seatbelt and the ATV's safety netting."
"Within two minutes, Acadian Ambulance Services arrived and assisted in freeing the child from the cold waters," it continues, "This is an extremely tragic accident. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking you to keep this family in your constant prayers as they try to cope with this horrible incident. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time of need."
