NBC has renewed "This Is Us" for season 2 and season 3, with 18 episodes for each season. Following the good news, series stars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia sat down with Entertainment Weekly on Facebook Live to express their excitement.

"Who's excited for 36 more episodes of 'This Is Us'? We're very excited," said Ventimiglia. Moore quickly added, "And slightly overwhelmed." Ventimiglia then said, "We're going to be with you for a while." Moore joked, "Hope you're not sick of us yet," and added, "We're not going anywhere."

The renewal was announced by NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke during the TCA winter press tour. She said, "We all got our wish that this is a hit show. 'This Is Us' is as good as anything we've ever had. We're thrilled to renew it for two seasons and there's no doubt it will have a long life on NBC."

Salke continued, "On behalf of everyone at NBC, we're grateful for the artistry of the cast, crew and producers assembled by our gifted creator, Dan Fogelman. In a world where there are literally hundreds of television dramas, we're proud to have one of the very best that is also one of the highest-rated. And a special thanks to our partners at 20th Century Fox Television who supplied us with this incredible show."

The two-season renewal aside, "This Is Us" has tapped Katie Couric to make a cameo appearance on the dramedy. Couric will portray herself and will be seen interviewing Kevin (Justin Hartley). "Atlanta" star Brian Tyree Henry will also guest star on the series. He will play a cousin of young William (Jermel Nakia). Both Couric and Henry will appear in episodes airing later this season, which is set to end in early March.
