The director has also shared a sneak peek of one of the characters in the movie, a dog named Rex who is voiced by Norton. The movie has begun filming in England, but the release date and plot details are not announced yet.

Through the video, Anderson also announces a charitable contest he hosts with funding platform Crowdrise, which uses gamification and a rewards point system to raise donation. Participants are required to make $10 donation which will be forwarded to The Film Foundation, a non-profit foundation founded by director Martin Scorsese for "protecting and preserving motion picture history." One lucky winner will get a trip to London, a tour of the "Isle of Dogs" sets and production, and also a chance to voice a dog in "Isle of Dogs".

"Isle of Dogs" will be Anderson's second animated movie after "The Fantastic Mr. Fox". Anderson's latest project prior to "Isle of Dogs" is 2014's "The Grand Budapest Hotel", a pastel-hued comedy starring Ralph Fiennes, which won four Oscars, including an award for Best Picture.
