AceShowbiz - Liam Payne may give Christmas surprise for One Direction fans. A screengrab circulating on Twitter shows that the British singer has apparently registered a track titled "Myself" with international music rights organization BMI.

Fans even discovered a new verified Spotify channel for Liam Payne. A fan tweeted, "Liam's Spotify account has been verified - meaning that a track could be released any day now!" while another wrote, "let the party begin... leeyum is ready #SoloLiam #LP1 #Myself @LiamPayne slaying #Z0L7."

According to The Sun, the new track was penned by a team of Grammy-nominated songwriters including Emily Warren, Nick Monson and Scott Harris. Each of them has worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Nick Jonas and Shawn Mendes.

Liam has been steadily working on new materials, having spent time with Pharrell Williams and Ordinary Boys' Samuel Preston. He also teamed up with his bandmate Louis Tomlinson to co-write a song called "Something That Scares Me About Love".

In October, the 23-year-old singer officially signed solo record deal with Republic Records. "We're honored by Liam's decision to join Republic Records, and have extremely high expectations for his solo career," said Republic Records co-founder and CEO Monte Lipman.

Liam follows in the footsteps of his bandmates to go solo. Niall Horan unleashed his debut solo single "This Town" in October, while Louis released "Just Hold On" featuring DJ Steve Aoki in early December. Former 1D member Zayn Malik dropped his debut solo album "Mind of Mine" in March, while Harry Styles turned to acting, starring in Christopher Nolan-directed World War II movie "Dunkirk".
