There's no bad blood here. After announcing their split earlier this week, Liev Schreiber still showed lots of love for his ex Naomi Watts by sharing a sweet message on her birthday Wednesday, September 28.
Watts, who turned 48 that day, posted on Instagram a throwback picture of her as a baby sitting in a stroller. "Another birthday!! #eek But I think I'm younger than this #vintage stroller??" she captioned it. "Not quite sure what's happening here... #eek #70's #photoop #oldschool #raisedbyartists."
Schreiber was among those commenting on the black-and-white snap. "Happy Birthday Sweetheart," the 48-year-old actor simply wrote.
Watts and Schreiber began dating in 2005 and they have two children together, 9-year-old Sasha and 7-year-old Sammy. The pair revealed the end of their 11-year relationship in a joint statement posted last Monday.
"Over the past few months we've come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship," the former lovers said.
"While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy," they added.
