AceShowbiz - Saoirse Ronan's dark comedy Bad Apples is set to arrive on Digital on November 3, 2026, Paramount Home Entertainment has announced. The film will be available to buy or rent.
Directed by Jonatan Etzler, Bad Apples stars Ronan as Maria, a primary school teacher doing her best to inspire a class of 10-year-olds. Her efforts are stifled by one unruly and chaotic student. With her career in question and the child's behavior spiraling, Maria makes a series of questionable decisions that lead to her accidentally taking and locking this "bad apple" in her home. She tries desperately to backtrack, but when the class starts flourishing and the staff and parents are thrilled with the improvement, she finds herself in a very complicated predicament.
The film is based on the book "De Oönskade" by Rasmus Lindgren. The story is by Etzler and Jess O'Kane, with the screenplay written by O'Kane. Oskar Pimlott produced the film, which is distributed by Republic Pictures in association with Hanway Films and presented by Vice Studios.
Alongside Ronan, the cast includes Eddie Waller, Nia Brown, Jacob Anderson, Rakie Ayola, Robert Emms, and Sean Gilder.
Bad Apples is rated R in the US for language and a brief grisly image, and 14A in Canada. The film runs 1 hour and 40 minutes.
The official trailer has been released, offering a look at the film's darkly comedic premise. Paramount Home Entertainment also shared the announcement on Facebook.
