AceShowbiz - Liam Garrigan is reportedly eyed to join the cast ensemble of Michael Bay's "Transformers: The Last Knight". According to Mashable, the King Arthur of ABC's series "Once Upon a Time" is in negotiations to portray the same character in the fifth installment of the "Transformers" film franchise. Paramount hasn't given any comments regarding the report.

Aside from King Arthur, sources claim that Merlin will also be a part of the story even though no star has been tapped to play the wizard. It remains unclear whether the two legendary characters from the Arthurian mythology will appear in the flashback scenes or not as the official synopsis of the film hasn't been released.

Michael Bay directs the follow-up to "Transformers: Age of Extinction" from a screenplay co-written by Art Marcum, Matt Halloway and Ken Nolan. It centers on Optimus Prime who finds his home planet, Cybertron, now a dead planet. Thinking that he's responsible for its demise, he finds a way to bring the planet back to life. However, in order to do so he needs to find an artifact on Earth.

Scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on June 23, 2017, "Transformers: The Last Knight" sees the return of Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and Peter Cullen. In the fifth "Transformers" movie, they are joined by Laura Haddock, Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael and Santiago Cabrera. Additionally, Anthony Hopkins is tapped in a mystery role.

Garrigan starred on TV series including "24: Live Another Day" and Cinemax's action series "Strike Back". He also starred in 2011's TV movie "The Night Watch". The 34-year-old actor made an appearance in 2014's "The Legend of Hercules" opposite the likes of Kellan Lutz, Scott Adkins, Gaiya Weiss and Johnathon Schaech.
