The 'Grinder' alum will be the subject of this year's Comedy Central roast.

Rob Lowe is set as the next roastee on Comedy Central. The "Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe" is set to be taped in Los Angeles. There's no word yet on a roastmaster, nor a word on who will come forward to poke fun at "The Grinder" alum. No premiere date or taping date has been set yet.

Comedy Central president Kent Alterman said in a statement on Thursday, June 9, "Rob Lowe is handsome, talented, successful and handsome. He needs to be roasted."

Lowe added, "What a thrill to once again be following in Justin Bieber's footsteps. I look forward to a night of hilarious jokes recycled from the James Franco Roast. I would like to express my gratitude to the members of my family who have passed away and therefore will not have to endure what promises to be a very special evening."

Recent roast subjects include Bieber, Franco, Roseanne Barr, Charlie Sheen and Donald Trump. Hannibal Buress, Jeff Ross, Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Pete Davidson and Will Ferrell were among the performers who joined last year's Bieber roast.

When asked about the sense of humor he brings to his work, Lowe told John Travolta in this week's issue of Variety, "I was influenced as a kid by watching early 'Saturday Night Live'. I must have been about 11, 12 or 13 when it came out and I was obsessed with it. I think I know more about early 'SNL' than probably the people who were actually on it."
