Zayn Malik has responded to accusations that he ripped off the cover art of his "Mind of Mine" album. After many compared the artwork, which features a childhood photo of him with tattooed arms, to that of Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III", the former One Direction member blasted critics in some Twitter posts.

"I'm not tryna be no rapper , my album is me a child .. My ideas have been with me a long time," the 23-year-old hottie wrote on Thursday, February 18. "Use your brain, appreciate art don't discriminate what you don't understand."

He also re-tweeted a fan's post showing other albums with childhood photos of Drake, Nas and Notorious B.I.G. as the cover arts. The fan captioned the pictures, "Lil Wayne didn't trademark using baby pictures as cover art fam. Zayn just following legends that's it."

Zayn's "Mind of Mine" album is due out on March 25, exactly a year after he left One Direction. It's led by "Pillowtalk" which made its debut on Billboard Hot 100 earlier this month at No. 1. On Wednesday night, the singer made his first appearance on TV as a solo artist on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and debuted another song off the project, "It's You".

Zayn is apparently readying a music video for the newest track and has teased it in a tweet he posted earlier on Thursday. "Fallon was sick, but wait for this," he captioned a photo taken during the filming.
