The tour, titled after the singer's new single she performed during the big game on Sunday night, opens with a string of North American dates that start on April 27 in Miami.

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles isn't done dropping surprises. Following the unexpected arrival of the single "Formation" and its music video over the weekend, the singer performed it live for the first time alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show. Now, she announced that she'd embark on the "Formation" world tour.

The North American trek is scheduled to open on April 27 at Marlins Park in Miami, FL and hit stadiums across the country including Santa Clara, CA's Levi's Stadium where the Super Bowl game took place on Sunday, February 7. Bey will also visit Toronto, Detroit and New York until mid-June before starting the European leg later that month.

The "Formation" tour marks Beyonce's first solo tour since 2013's "Mrs. Carter Show World Tour" which spanned two years and brought her to five continents. Prior to this, she and husband Jay-Z joined forces for the "On the Run" tour.

Tickets for Bey's upcoming North American shows go on sale February 16. American Express card members, however, can purchase tickets starting on February 9.
