Together their visited "SNL" current version of Hillary, played by Kate McKinnon, in a dream. Both ladies later went back to their old jobs as "Weekend Update" anchors and game show hosts.

It was the first time in 11 years that a "Saturday Night Live" episode was hosted by two people. Mary-Kate Olsen and her twin Ashley Olsen hosted the show in 2004. Fey and Poehler were joined by musical guest Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band who had not played the show since 2002. Paul McCartney made a surprise appearance at the end of the show for a rendition of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" together with Springsteen.
